Gigabit Academy


The Gigabit Academy was launched in 2022 as an initiative of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance and the Austrian Research Promotion Agency. It is known as a service program and innovation platform for knowledge exchange, community building and idea development, with the aim of initiating projects and applications based on a gigabit-capable infrastructure and connectivity.

That was the GigaLab'24!


GigaLab'24 took place on November 27th and 28th, 2024 in Vienna. Organized by FFG Austrian Research Promotion Agency, the Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance, and AustrianStartups with focus on challenges that may be solved with applications based on a gigabit-capable infrastructure and connectivity. 

Attendees had the opportunity to network with experts from varying organizations, work on emerging trends, and gain hands-on experience with breakthrough solutions shaping the future. A highlight of the event was the presentation of final results on the stage of the Future Forward Festival. The top three teams were awarded a total of €10,000 in recognition of their outstanding achievements.
